Stampa Migrante. Periodicals of the Italian community of Egypt, 1892-1940
Ideato da Lucia Carminati (professoressa all’Università di Oslo) e finanziato dalla British Library nel contesto dell’iniziativa Endangered Archives Programme, Stampa Migrante ha l’obiettivo di digitalizzare, divulgare e preservare la collezione storica di periodici stampati in Egitto in lingua italiana conservata presso la biblioteca del Centro Archeologico Italiano del Cairo. I periodici, stampati tra il 1892 e il 1940, aprono finestre eccezionali sulla storia dell’immigrazione italiana verso l’Egitto nonché di aspetti inesplorati della società egiziana moderna. Il progetto è attualmente in via di svolgimento ed è affidato alla sezione di libri rari e collezioni speciali della biblioteca dell’American University in Cairo.
L’evento si svolgerà in lingua italiana.

الصحافة المُهاجرة -دوريات الجالية الإيطالية في مصر ، 1892-1940
فكرة لوسيا كارميناتي (أستاذة بجامعة أوسلو) وتمويل المكتبة البريطانية في إطار برنامج المحفوظات المهددة بالانقراض ، حيث تهدف الصحافة المُهاجرة إلى رقمنة المجموعة التاريخية للدوريات المطبوعة في مصر باللغة الإيطالية ونشرها وحفظها في مكتبة مركز الآثار الإيطالي بالقاهرة. هذا وتفتح الدوريات ، التي تم طباعتها بين عامي 1892 و 1940 ، نوافذ إستثنائية على تاريخ الهجرة الإيطالية إلى مصر وكذلك على الجوانب التى لم يتم إكتشافها بعد والخاصة بالمجتمع المصري الحديث. ومن الجدير بالذكر أنه جارى تنفيذ هذا المشروع حاليا ، وقد تم إسناده إلى قسم الكتب النادرة والمجموعات الخاصة بمكتبة الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة.

Stampa Migrante. Periodicals of the Italian community of Egypt, 1892-1940
Conceived by Lucia Carminati (Professor at the University of Oslo) and financed by the British Li-brary in the context of the Endangered Archives Programme, Stampa Migrante aims to digitalize, disseminate and preserve the historical collection of periodicals printed in Egypt in Italian lan-guage stored at the library of the Italian Archaeological Center in Cairo. The periodicals, printed between 1892 and 1940, open exceptional windows on the history of Italian immigration to Egypt as well as unexplored aspects of modern Egyptian society. The project is currently underway and is entrusted to the rare books and special collections section of the library of the American Universi-ty in Cairo.
