(WADI EL-NATRUN): QUESTIONI, RISULTATI E PROSPETTIVE FUTURE DI COLLABORAZIONE.

L’Istituto Veneto per i Beni Culturali (IVBC), con sede a Venezia, è un centro di eccellenza nella conservazione, nel restauro e nella valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale. Il suo obiettivo è trasmettere competenze tecnico- scientifiche attraverso un approccio integrato e multidisciplinare, in stretta collaborazione con comunità locali, autorità religiose e istituzioni culturali. In questo quadro si colloca l’attività in Egitto, presso il Monastero Copto di San Macario nel Wadi El-Natrun, uno dei più antichi centri della spiritualità cristiana d’Oriente, fondato nel IV secolo. Il progetto nasce dall’esigenza di rafforzare e attualizzare i profondi legami storici e spirituali che, sin dall’Alto Medioevo, uniscono il Veneto e il Mediterraneo al mondo copto, in un orizzonte che intreccia cooperazione culturale, ricerca e formazione.

MACARIUS (WADI EL-NATRUN): ISSUES, RESULTS, AND FUTURE COLLABORATION PROSPECTS.

The Veneto Institute of Cultural Heritage (IVBC), based in Venice, is a center of excellence in the conservation, restoration, and promotion of cultural heritage. Its goal is to transfer technical and scientific expertise through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach, in close collaboration with local communities, religious authorities, and cultural institutions. Within this framework, the activities in Egypt take place at the Coptic Monastery of Saint Macarius in Wadi El-Natrun, one of the oldest centers of Christian spirituality in the East, founded in the 4th century. The project arises from the need to strengthen and modernize the deep historical and spiritual ties that, since the Early Middle Ages, have connected Veneto and the Mediterranean to the Coptic world, in a perspective that intertwines cultural cooperation, research, and education.
