In occasione della Giornata Internazionale del Dialogo tra le Civiltà, Il Centro Archeologico Italiano dell’Istituto Italiano di Cultura, in collaborazione con l’ISMEO (Associazione Internazionale di Studi sul Mediterraneo e l’Oriente) e la Soprintendenza Generale alle Antichità e ai Musei (NCAM) del Sudan, ha l’onore di organizzare il workshop.
Questo workshop mira a presentare due lezioni sui sistemi di scrittura geroglifica e meroitica, evidenziando gli aspetti che riflettono l’interazione culturale e il dialogo lungo la Valle del Nilo. Il workshop includerà anche un’attività pratica per introdurre i partecipanti alla lettura e alla scrittura di queste antiche grafie. L’obiettivo è quello di promuovere la consapevolezza e la comprensione del patrimonio culturale condiviso della Valle del Nilo.

BETWEEN HIEROGLYPHICS AND MEROITIC: CULTURAL INTERACTION THROUGH LANGUAGE AND WRITING SYSTEMS IN THE NILE VALLEY
On the occasion of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations the Italian Archaeological Center of the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with ISMEO – The International Association for Mediterranean and Orient Studies, and the National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM) of Sudan, is honored to organize the workshop.
This workshop aims to present two lectures on Hieroglyphic and Meroitic writing systems, highlighting aspects that reflect cultural interaction and dialogue along the Nile Valley. The workshop will also include a hands-on activity introducing participants to the reading and writing of these ancient scripts. The workshop seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the shared cultural heritage of the Nile Valley
